Welsh Woodland Foraging Walk

Discover the wild side of Wales on a guided woodland foraging walk, exploring peaceful Welsh forests, waterfalls and woodland trails while learning about edible wild plants, seasonal foods and traditional medicinal plants.

This 3 to 4 hour guided foraging experience is suitable for beginners and anyone interested in wild food, plant identification, natural remedies and traditional foraging in Wales. Your guide will introduce you to the plants and fungi that can be found in woodland habitats and explain how they have traditionally been used for food, medicine and everyday life.

You’ll learn how to recognise edible and useful plants safely, understand seasonal availability and discover how responsible foraging can help us develop a closer connection with the natural environment.

What you'll learn

• Woodland plant identification
• How to recognise edible wild plants and seasonal foods
• Traditional medicinal and healing plants and their uses
• Safe and responsible foraging practices
• Sustainable and mindful approaches to collecting wild food
• The natural history and seasonal changes of Welsh woodlands

The experience takes place in woodland where paths and trails can be uneven, with steps and other natural obstacles. You should be comfortable walking on uneven ground for several hours. If you have any concerns about accessibility or your ability to take part, please contact the organiser before booking.
